15 Different Types of Peace Lilies (Spathiphyllum Varieties)
The Peace Lily or Spathiphyllum is a tropical flower native to parts of the Americas and South East Asia. While this plant can be grown outside in some areas, it also makes for an attractive and even common houseplant due to its easy care and charming beauty.
Strangely enough the Peace Lily is not a lily at all, but rather is a member of the Araceae family, which includes the Calla lily, which peace lily closely resembles.
While there are 47 different varieties of Peace lilies most of these plants look very similar with difference limited to the height of the plant, the length of the leaves, the number of flowers per plant and a few other minor differences.
More Information About Peace Lilies
Depending on the species, Peace lilies can grow anywhere from about 10 inches to about 6 feet tall, with medium or dark green leaves that can run from 5 inches to 25 inches in length.
The white calla lily type flowers have yellow spadixes (or centers) and plants can produce one or more flowers, which grows from a rounded stem that grows straight up.
When grown out of doors these plants normally bloom in spring or early summer, but when grown indoors they may bloom at almost any time of the year.
The Peace lily grows best in medium to high light conditions and needs moist soil to do it’s best. Due to the different heights of these plants they can make both excellent table or floor plants depending on the variety of plant you choose to grow in your home.

15 Different Varieties of the Peace Lilies
As mentioned above there are around 47 different Peace Lily varieties, but for purposes of this article we will be giving a short description of less than half of these Peace Lily types.
#1. Sensation Peace Lily
This variety of plant is one of the largest in the Peace Lily family, most often growing to be 4 to 6 feet tall and can grow just as wide.
The leaves of this plant are a dark glossy green with a tough ribbed texture that is easy to feel. Like all Peace Lilies this plant has white flowers with a yellow center.
Due to its large size this Peace Lily makes an excellent floor plant and will bring rich color to any décor.
#2. Patricia Peace Lily
On the opposite end of the spectrum from the Sensation Peace lily is the Patricia Peace Lily. The Patricia is a small plant with rich green leaves and white flowers with pale yellow centers.
#3. Piccolino Peace Lily
Another of the compact Peace Lily varieties, the Piccolino Peace Lily is a dwarf variety of this plant, so normally this plant won’t grow any taller than 10 to 12 inches tall.
This plant has dark shiny green leaves that normally stands straight up and normally grows one white flower with a creamy yellow center near the center of the plant.
#4. Little Angel Peace Lily
The Little Angel Peace Lily is another Dwarf version of this plant with deep green glossy leaves and white flowers with light yellow centers.
What makes this plant stand out is that the flowers of this plant actually grow on top of the leaves, giving the plant (when in bloom) the look and appeal of a lovely bouquet.
#5. White Striped (Silver Streaked) Spathiphyllum
It is the leaves of the White Striped Peace Lily that differentiated this plant from other varieties of this flower.
The leaves of this plant are matte rather than shiny green and have white stripes for which the plant is named.
#6. Domino Peace Lily
The Domino Peace Lily is a fairly large plant standing about 30 inches tall and being the same size in width.
This thickly leaved plant has ruffled leaves with white patterned white streaks or blotches. This plant is also known for its prolific flowers.
#7. Spathiphyllum Jetty
The Jetty Peace Lily is a plant that stands between 19 inches and 2 feet high with glossy green leaves and white flowers with yellow centers.
This flowering plant would look great on a small stand close to a window where it would get ample sunshine.
#8. Spathiphyllum “Mauna Loa”
The Mauna Loa Peace lily is a tall thinner plant standing 3 to 4 feet tall and 9 to 12 inches wide. Like most other plants in this family, the Mauna loa has glossy green leaves.
However, the stems of the flower of this plant can grow up to 15 to 20 inches in height and can be up to 4 inches thick. The flower itself it somewhat larger than many of the flowers on other varieties of Peace Lilies.
#9. Clevelandii Peace Lily
The Clevlandii Peace Lily is a midsize plant that grows between 1 and 3 feet tall.
What makes this plant somewhat stunning is that it has long (up to 18 inch) leaves and large white blooms. The white flowers against the darker leaves make this plant look somewhat dramatic.
#10. Power Petite Peace Lily
The Power Petite version of peace lily is very small and sports small dark green shiny leaves and flowers to match the size of the plant.
This Peace Lily is perfect for those people who are looking for a very small plant to place in a windowsill.
#11. Wallisii Peace Lily
The Wallisii is a normal size plant that grows 12 to 15 inches high. It has dark green rippled leaves that grow between 8 and 10 inches long, making the leaves almost as long as the plant itself.
#12. Picasso Peace Lily
Spathiphyllum Variegated (Picasso)
The Picasso Peace Lily named for the well known painter is a colorful plant with a beautiful variation of leaves that run from white to light green.
#13. Spathiphyllum “Platinum Mist”
The Platinum Mist Peace Lily is named because its leaves have mosaic like variegation with a silver sheen. This plant prefers bright indirect light, and be sure to water it regularly to prevent it from fainting (wilting).
#14. Bongo Bongo Peace Lily
The Bongo Bongo is a plant that stands about 20 inches high and is about 15 or 16 inches wide. The glossy green leaves are deeply veined and the white flowers stand out against the darkness of the leaves.
#15. Blue Moon Peace Lily
Another of the larger version of this plant, the Blue Moon stands about 3 feet tall and has extra large dark green leaves.
When planted out of doors this Peace Lily tends to bloom during the summer and early autumn and needs to have moist soil in order to remain healthy.
